Requirement to attach AWB/CMR documents and automatic email pre-alerts

Modified on Thu, 27 Feb at 12:42 PM

PostPlus has a new functionality, where the system is configred to require AWB or CMR documetns to be attached to the shipment. This requirement is implemented to allow sending automatic pre-alert emails to the relevant parties that are involved in shipment handling.

In short, the shipment has the following lifecycle:

  • Shipment parcels/bags are manifested, and shipment is submitted, shipment is in "Pending" state. While in "Pending" state
    • for Direct Injection Terminals, CN documents can be generated and applied on the manifested bags.
    • AWB/MAWB/CMR number and arrival information such as flight number can be modified to accommodate potential booking changes.
  • Once the AWB/CMR documents are available, they must be attached to the shipment, that action moves it to the "Planned" state. At this point:
    • Shipment is added to the handling schedule.
    • Automatic pre-alerts are sent to the relevant parties involved in shipment handling.

More detailed workflow steps description below:

When this requirement is configured for the given Account and Terminal,

the shipment needs to be manifested/submitted, and after this, the Shipment status will be in "Pending" state and display error message, stating that the required documents must be attached to the shipments.

Please note that while in "Pending" state, AWB/MAWB numbers and arrival information can be updated to accommodate possible flight/truck booking changes.

When AWB or CMR booking is confirmed, customer needs to navigate to “Documents” tab and click on “Upload Document”.
Clicking “Upload Document” will open a drawer window, where customer needs to choose type “AWB” (or “CMR” in case the shipment type is CMR”)

And either drag and drop the file or browse from the computer. The name will be updated based on the uploaded file name and then click on save:

Once the document is uploaded, the error message will be removed, and the shipment status becomes "Planned". This status indicates that shipment is added to the handling schedule, and relevant pre-alert emails will be sent automatically:
